Reverend Shaune F. Thompson is a native of Chicago, IL. His mother, a single parent, and his grandparents raised him. He grew up on the Southside and he is a product of Chicago Public Schools. Shaune is a 1991 graduate of Near North Magnet Career Academy. Before serving 9 years in the United States Army Reserve, Shaune attended Northern Illinois University. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Chicago Baptist Institute and he is currently pursuing a Master’s of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary.
Shaune’s mother and grandparents were active members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where Shaune accepted Christ at the early age of eleven. He was baptized by the late Reverend Gordon A. Humphrey Sr. and has remained an active and devoted member of Shiloh his entire life. Shaune has served the church as a Junior Usher, a member in the Heavenly Stars Children’s Choir, The GAH Chorus, and the Combined Choir of Shiloh Baptist Church, in addition to being a drummer. Under the leadership of Pastor Humphrey Sr., Shaune grew spiritually, developing a good work ethic and servant’s heart. Under the mentorship of the late Reverend Gordon A. Humphrey Jr. and Reverend Rodney S. Patterson, Shaune acknowledged and accepted his call into ministry in July of 2006. Since that time, he has served as Minister of Baptism and Communion as well as the Youth Pastor. Shaune Thompson’s ordination service was held at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church on November 2, 2014.
Shaune is married to the former Edwina Gholston. He is the father of three children, daughters Eryn and Myra, and a son Shaune F. Thompson II. In his spare time Shaune enjoys fishing, bowling, playing golf, and traveling.
